Thursday, April 3, 1947 SOUTHWESTERN TIMES Page 17 Bellaire Sells Bonds To Provide $150,000 For Improvements Bellaire's new board of alder- men will have $150,000 on hand with which to begin city improve- ments following an action by the old council Monday night which sold that much in municipal bonds. The council awarded the sale to BLASINGAME DRUG STORE AND DRUG SUPPLIES Homer Blasingame, Prop. Bellaire Blvd. at Edloe Phone M. 2-2200 a bond syndicate composed of Crummer & Company, Inc., of Texas, and McClung and Knicker- bocker, represented by Lawrence Davis. The council agreed to pay 2.G7 per cent interest on the bonds. A council spokesman indicated that the bonds would be printed and delivered within about 30 days. A contract for the work, to include water and sewage improvements, will be let immediately after, it was stated. The accepted bid on the bonds was the lowest of six submitted. Ever since the invention of the printing press, typographi- cal errors and printed statements susceptible of different interpretations have been the cause of universal merriment, to say nothing of a great amount of personal distress.
