Address to the Queen. [Newspaper Article] — Narromine News and Trangie Advocate — 4 August 1899

Address to the Queen In the Assembly yesternight the Premier moved the adoption of the Federal Address to the Queen. He spoke very briefly and deprecated the revival of the controversies which took place before the Referendum. He re garded the vote as a decisive and final expression of the judgment of the - peopla. Those who opposed the Bill should now bow to the will of the majority, Mr. Barton said that the passage of the Address waB a foregone conclusion, but he regretted that there was no mention of last year's ref eiendum in the address. He moved an amendment to remedy the omission, which, however, was defeated by 40 votes to 25. The debate was ultimately ad journed.
