Argoon and Kulki. September 7. [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 10 September 1895

Argoon and KuM. Kantamiwi* 7 Shearing in this district is progressing very favorably indeed.- - Men are plentiful and good, in fact giving every, satisfaction. Pastoralists are jubilant over their fat sheep sheep and large fleeces. From this district merino wethers fetched 14s at Homebush last week. These sheep were bred and fat ? tenedon Mr J. Colliu's Dunmore estate. The wool on the whole seems rather light, but I suppose it will realise higher prices on that account. Fairlie Grange has again changed hands, this time to Mr M'Bean, of South Australia. I am sure the people here will give Mr M'Bean a hearty welcome ; at the same time we are very sorry to lose from our midst Mr David Ryan, who has endeared himself in every home here. We all wish him every success back to his old home in Gee long. Local gossip has it Failie Grange will be adorned with a young bride coming from the Conargo district. There is a man of small stature, who holds land not 100 miles from Morundah, who is alwa...

THE SITUATION UP TO DATE. [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 10 September 1895

THE SITUATION UP TO DATE. What we call the political crisis will come to a bead in a few days. Tlie Government baa passed tbe Taxation Machinery Bill through the Assembly, j tbe majority of the members of which exercised no representative rights. and made no effort to improve the measure. Accepting as a piece of I political gospel the Ministerial declaration that it was '-The nonntry's I ' mandate' that the Bill should be same form, as far as its main provis ions were concerned, an it was in whon the Upper Hoase rejected it. a large ! number of members expressly stated I that_ they were prepared to waive all considerations of rightnesB or wrong ness of principle iu order that the Council might be forced to ifs knees. The efforts of the few who did seek to reduce the injustices and xnodif v the inconsistencies of the measure were scoffed at, whilst for sticking J fast to long-held opinions they were taunted with being untrue. The whole Business was a sorry exhibition or latter-day -p...

TbiB was princi pally .accomplished by the manager who seems to excel in that line of business. On Friday but a babe only thirty hours old died, and iklso the poor mother on the Sunday following. About one hundred Aborigines and a few white residents followed the re mains to the grave on Mouday. Beautiful wreaths and crosses were placed upon the coffin. The funeral service was read by Mr C. Nash, the catenhist. Last Sunday week at Darlington Point, the Rev. G. R. F.
