OL1FTONS V. MARTJLAN. On . Wednesday last, 9th November, a team from the Clifton Club'journeyed to Marulan to try conclusions with the local club. The teiut was not nearly as good a one as the Ciiftonscan put into the field, but notwith standing: they managed to score a decisive win. The day was cloudy, and rain foil at intervals, but not in sufficient quantities to atop play at any time. Marulan took tho wiokets first at about 11.30, but noi much of a stand was made against the bowling of Ii Nosworthy and Boyd, and the lust wicket fell when the score had reached 17 runs ; Like (not out) 14, and 'Waygood 12 boing the only double figures. The Cliftons then took the wickets and lost their first man (B. Noswurthy) without scoring. Boyd then joined Morris, and played very steadily, ond on adjourning for' lunch ho had been batting for nearly twenty minutes for three runs, Morris 23. Local iiiKl dncucnil Berrima Distriot Cottage Hospital.— Tho regular monthly meeting ot the Committee was held at tho hoapitnl on Friday last, P. H. Throsby, Esq., presiding. Also present — Messrs. A. B. Young, H, M. Oxloy, J. Picrgott, G. Georgo and C. Ben uott. The matter of patients discharged as cured, and who had agreed to pay somothing for their treatment at tho hospital but had not vet done so. was debated. A resolution was adopted to the effect that the secretary mako a final application for tho money, after which legal proceedings aro to bo taken if nccessary. Tho proposed fevor ward was again discussed, and it was decided to further communicato with Dr. Manning aftor having col lected certain information relative to the cost of tho proposed building.
