An appeal case was filed In the Supreme court from the Allen county district court by the Big Gunn Oil and Gas Company against H. R. Allen and Wm. Savings. In the Allen county court H. R. Allen and Wm. Saving, who are well drill ers, got a Judgment of $1,748.43 against the company for work done. Kansas .Man For Panama. Dr. Charles Andrews, a Hiawatha man, has been appointed a government hos pital physician at Panama and will soon start for that country to take up his work. The Panama physicians have to take, civil service examina tions for the job. Dr. Andrews Is at present health officer for -Brown county. Will Fight the Law. It has four hundred and fifty persons within Its borders. The people will elect officers June 26 six councilmen, a police judge and a mayor. Wichita Blackmailer. Mrs. F. Tll lingtaast, widow of a wealthy stock man, received a letter threatening her with death and the destruction of her residence by fire unless she deposited $500 in a lonely spot near her home.
