Take a charming and compe- tent hostess an ideal afternoon and congenial quests put these together and the result is bound to bo a delightful time. Arriving at about 1 o'clock the Hook Club ladies wore shown by Mrs. Burrow and her assistant entertainer Mrs. Dr. "Wilson into the parlor which was artis- tically decorated with roses and sweet peas. Booklets with handS paintod cover further decorated with ribbons of the club colors were passed and quests wore in- structed to make guesses at the animal drawings made by each in turn. The ladies took pains not to display any of their artis- tic genius and but for some dis- tinguishing features scarcely any of the twenty-two animals drawn could have been guessed. The prizes given in this for lar- gest number of correct guesses was a daintily framed bit of scenery painted by the hostess.
