VALEDICTORY. On Wednesday, July 26th, a social evening was held in the Parish Hall to farewell Mr. and Mrs. A. Warry, on their departure from Alexandra. On behalf of the Alexandra Tennis Club the president (Mr. R. C. Ro berts) presented Mr. Warry with a silver tray, suitably inscribed, and spoke of Mrs. Warry's untiring service as assistant secretary to the club. He wished them every happiness in the future. Mr. D. Meldrum (vice-president) very ably supported the president's remarks. Mrs. Warry, in responding, said she had been very happy to do what she could for the tennis club while in Alexandra. During the evening items were ren dered by Mrs. June McCallum and Mr. D. Meldrum. Dundas' orchestra provided the music for dancing. YARCK FOOTBALL CLUB'S DEBUTANTE BALL. The Yarck Football Club's Debu 3 tante Ball, held in the Yarck Public Hall on Wednesday evening, July 19, was an outstanding success, both so cially and financially. Visitors came 3 from all parts of the shire, as well as from such distant places as Albu'ry, Ballarat, Lancefield, Seymour, Euroa and Melbourne, and the hall was filled to capacity. Graham's orchestra supplied their usually good music, and Mr. Arnold Blakeney was compere throughout the evening. - The hall was gaily decorated with streamers, balloons, etc., while around the walls the ventilators were filled with brightly colored perennial leaves. Each window was draped with black and white sashes, emble matic of the club's colors. A beauti ful floral archway, was arranged on the stage, this being a particularly attractive embellishment. At the General As sembly of the Church in Victoria, in May last, it was decided to link up the campaign of Extension and De velopment, now concluding its fifth. year, with this New Life Movement of the Presbyterian Church through out all the States. It has a three-year plan.
