Miss Pbylies Barff presented the Mayoress with a very handsome bouquet. The marquee, which was a large one, being 45ft. long by 35ft. wide, with 7ft. walls, was freely decorated with bunting. Obituary JOHN DUCK, AETAT 30 YEARS. ON Friday evening, 22nd ult., a shrill passed through Picton when it was rumoured that Mr. John Duck, of the Oakdale School, one of the most promising teachers in the country,   had passed away at Redbank, at the early age of thirty years. The subject of this memoir was a Camden man by birth and education, being the son of Mr. Wm. Duck, of Bob's Range, near The Oaks, where he first saw the light on Jan. 3rd, 1868. His sunny disposi tion won the affection of his teachers, and fellow-students in boyhood, and distinguished him in after life. At sixteen a broken leg in valided him for four months, and subsequently he found it necessary to place himself under medical care. He received his early education at the Bob's Range Public School, and com pleted it at Camden, under the tuition of Mr.   H. P. Reeves. At nineteen, having passed the necessary examinations, he entered the eervice of the Instruction Department, and was appoi...
