GOOD CLEARANCES AT COMBINED SALE Despite an attendance limit caused by heavy rains, Soma com bined agents carried out a. success ful sale in the Primaries Yards on Tuesday, clearing all except 50 of a yarding of 900 head. Tlic yarding consisted of 350 fnt cattle, with the balance stores, mainly cows with calves, and heifers. Prime lightweight bullocks sold to £21/2/6, and fat cows and vcaler calves to £22/5/. Ill the stores, 9 to 14 months old Hereford steers sold to £9/5/, 1H to 20 months old steers to £12/1/, good quality cows and calves to £15/7/6, aged Shorthorn cows to £12, and 8 to 12 mouths old heifers from £6/10/ to £7/5/. MR. CAMPBELL I From Sydney comes word of the recent death of Mr. Harry Campbell, el former well-known Roma resident. Mir. ICajnpbqll, who was aged 69 years, was for many years principal of the stock and station agency of Campbell and Co. Later he selected land south of Roma, known as Wyambab, on which he lived before leaving for Sydney with his family. He married the daughter of Mr. rod Mrs. Angus McPherson, of Innts cralg.'

Born at Condamine township ou July 22, 1869, he came to Roma with his parents in the early eighties. • He was apprenticed to the black smithing trade and worked as a youth and young man with local firms for some years. Later he hag.a black smith business in Augathella, Morven and Mitchell. He was a. member of the old V<Jfnn teer Force, which later became the De fence Force in the eighties and nine ties, and went overseas with the forces in World War I and saw active service in France. After his return he was appointed foreman of the Boma Water Supply, which position he held for many years until his retirement. OBITUARY MB. COLLINS [Newspaper Article] — Western Star — 4 March 1949

OBITUARY MB. COLLINS Tin1 death occurred of Mr. Michael Collins at tlic General Hospital, Komu, on Sunday, February 20. Ill for some months lieforc liis death, Mr. Collins was the cider son of tlic late Mr. Jeremiah and Mrs. Collins, who settled in the Roma district in 1807. Born at Woniblebank Station, Mit clicll, 78 years ago, his father was a carrier and the Bon followed the same occupation for sonic years in the Mit chell and Charleville districts out as far as the .Cooper. Returning to Bomn he selected land and engaged in whent growing, and later in cattle raising with his brothel. The late Mr. Collins was one of the foundation members of the Carriers' Union ut Charleville and was always a staunch supporter of the Labour Party. Unmarried, lie leaves two sisters, Miss B. M. Collins and Mrs. M. C. Lee, and two brothers, Richard and R. B. Collins, all of Hoina. The Rev. Father J. Lynch officiated at the Church of the Sacrcd Heart and also at the graveside.

Iiis return was precipitated by the threat of floods in thoso higher lati tudes. However, he declared that be was happy to be back among the local bowlers again, aud, judging by the ovation accordcd him when he rose to Bpcak at the afternoon tea table, those assembled were no less happy to have him back.
