California.—Tbe Tribune of Sntur. day contains several letters from a California adventurer who has just arrived st San Franc is to, 1'rom one of whieh, dated July 1st, wo make the following extract:" Tho first thins wo beard was, that there was plenty of gold, and that goods were , worth nothing ; and also, that men who were the only ones who could get the g"!d. ! t have since, however, conversed with merchants, who tell me that they ere selling goods by retail at a profit; at wholesale, however, they say, goods (most kinds) sell at about cost.
