WEEKLY CITIZEN. SATURDAY. AUGUST 21. 16S6. CALIFORNIA LETTER. James E. Gae6t is in from his ranch in the Baboqaivsris. Doo Hollidny is in jail in Denver, charged with vagrancy, Toppy Johnson returned last evening from a lengthy visit east. Pinal county levies a tax of ?3 on the 100 valuation this year. Rev. U. Gregory and family have re turned from a visit to California, The Uorseshoo mine, of Arizona has levied an assessment of two cents. Dr. J. C. Handy and wife have gone to California for a visit of a few weeks. Ten days more work will complete the damaged head of the Tucson water works. Some of the wicked and envious boys oall tho young democrats' club, "Shaw's Babies." Geronimo is still undecided which flag to fight under m the event of a war with Mexico. Sullivan and Muldoon have arrived in the city and may be seen at Congress Hall after six o'clock this evening. Mr, John Zellweger has returned from a visit to California. Current literature is chiefly compos ed of floating paragraphs. Mr. Burt Dunlap is in the city from his Aravaipa ranch. AbelS-DunKn,Esqr., has returned from a trip to the Bea coast. The San Austin Fiesta opens a, tbe park, one week from to-night. A 7x9 rain cloud yielded ten times its bulk in thunder this afternoon. The visitors to the racific coast are beginning to return home sgatn. The candidates work new designs in butter holes, about these times. The Chinese and Japanese are prepar ing for home rule.
