The arguments In the Claton case wcro concluded on Tuesday at eleven o'clock when the case was submitted .M' to the Jury. The evidence throughout the trial appeared to be circumstantial and was of such a nature as to leave a question of the conclusive guilt of the defend ant. Tho theory of the state was that a system had been employed by some one by which the books were first shorted, and later when the taxes I 'were paid the guilty party put the money in his pocket, the state claim ing that Clayton was the man.
