From the New York Evening Post. The Result of Mr. Buchanan's First Two Years in Office. ' By overlooking the dofioioncy bills, loans and some other matter, the Union pretends to have ciphered down the appropriation billt to65,000,000 or thereabouls, and takes great credit to the administration for its moderation. The rjmoi does not oount the 110,000, 000 approbriated in the form of deficiency bill, and the 8,198,000 acres of public land granted during the fiscal year for railroad purposes,' and worth not a cent loss than $10,000,000 more. These sums mako the appropriations amount to $85,000,000, on the vnion't own showing. Expenditures of the government in 1823 wore $9,784, 184 59. If they were permitted to incrcaso in the same- ratio as population,(and thev cer tainly ought not to increase with any greater rapidity,) they now ought not to exceod $28,000,000, whereas, on the Union's own' admission, they are considerably more .than double that amount, and the administration of 1823 wa...
