"ijrrr' " I The Brand . September 29 1994 eatUfeS J Six White Horses Back in the Saddle Again Standing Firm by Andrew Boss k i m This past summer while I was home I was asked to play Jesus for my church's Vacation Bible School (I am not sure why they chose me). I was to speak to a class as though I were Jesus teaching the crowd. The story I was asked to use was from Matthew 6:26-34. I began thinking about this experience the other day. The kids I spoke to were third graders. This made me won- der why it is that those of us who are older have such a hard time accepting such a simple statement: Do not worry about tomorrow because it has enough prob- lems of Jits own. The birds do not have to worry about how they will- survive so why should we? I guess this is eas- ier said than done especially if you consider that birds or flowers do not have to take exams give speeches study or hold a job. The point of this is that if God can provide for the birds and the flowers making them as beaut...

II Timothy 1:7 I had a really neat-o expe- rience the other day while I was waiting to make copies. (I never thought I'd say that). A friend came up and we began talking. Somehow we began to talk about those posters that everyone hangs on their wall that really don't look like anything until you stare at it for a while. (Actually it looks kind of like the stuff that grows in our shower). She began to explain how God's will for our life is like those posters. Although we know God's will is there just like those pictures He does- n't choose to reveal every- thing at once. At times it feels as if there really isn't anything there but slowly God begins to show us part of His will a piece at a time. If we just keep seeking Him just as if We are staring at those posters He will finally show us the complete picture that He has' for our lives. "Wow" I thought to my...

After the less-than-suc- cessful 1990 album Circle Slide the Choir was dropped from their contract with Myrrh records. The Choir did give up on their music however. They continued to tour and promote their EP Kissers and Killers on their own record label. Now signed with R.E.X. records the Choir have released Speckled Bird. The new album features remixes of seven Kissers and Killers tracks and five new songs. This album represents a change from the dreamy atmospheric rock of Circle Slide to a harder edged- gui- tar driven sound. These were statements I made about this time last year as I was debating the idea of sum- mer missions. After returning back to the States and looking back at my summer I realize that where we begin to put limits on God is where He shows us that we can do things we never dreamed we would do. So many people's view of missions is "I'll be ready when- ever God calls me to go." Instead shouldn't it be "I'll go unless God calls me to stay?" This coming week is Missions Emphasis Week.
