THE HEATHERTON RESERVE. [Newspaper Article] — Sandringham Southern Cross — 20 June 1914

Cr. Mills moved that £50 be contributed towards the       purchase of a recreation reserve for Heatherton. The committee who had the matter in hand had received donations and promises of £250, and with the Council's £50 they would be on velvet. The reserve would cost £350, and they had five years in which to pay the amount off. There would be a lot of work required to make the ground available for cricket,       and it was proposed to do that by means of working bees. Cr. Brownfield seconded the motion. At the beginning of the year the Council had a debit balance of £1,200 and on estimates adopted they would finish up with a debt of £4,340. Therefore, he could not see how they could make any contribut...
