The Ministerial programme is bo I many political pin pricks calculated to tickle nobody in particular. The pre sent Parliament had but one warrant from the people and that wbb to com. plete the Federal bosii ess. But one thing in this connection) remains to be done, and that is to vote the address to tbe yueen — a mere tormancy convey ing to Her Majesty the result of the Referendum. New South Wales and Sonth Australia have accepted the Amended Bill; Victoria will accept it on the 27th instant and so will Tasmania on the same day. The ad dress may, under the provisions of tho draft constitution, be submitted to Pnrliament when three States have affirmed the Amended Bill. At any time, therefore, after the 27th inBtant the New South Wales Parliament may do its duty and formally pass the address. There is really no necessity for debate of any kind, for the verdict is the people's, and any interference with that verdict would be a piece of Parliamen'ary impertinence. Cresar has spoken, a...

Open Column. TO THE EDITOE OF THE KARROHING NEWS Dear Sir, — Your personal reminded in your last week's gossip column with regard to the Hospital Ball did not escape my notice, and I think I may safely promise that local lovers of the terpsichorean art shall this year, as hitherto, have an opportunity of pays ing their devotions to the nimble footed goddess — not forgetting, oh, ye less romantic goorjiets, the feast that annually accompanies these joyous celebrations. It is essential, however, that an im portant preliminary matter should be first definitely decided, and Ihui is, 'What shall be done with the pro ceeds ?' Hitherto the uett sum has been sent to the Dubbo Hospital, but a proposal has been mooted that it should be kept in Narromine as a nucleus of a fund for the building of a Narromine Cottage Hospital. It has been suggested tliat the sum sent to Dubbo should be reserved for paying for Narromine patients only, but I trHs£'t¥at the quality of our mercy, or charity, is not...

Vagrant Notes. The Half Holiday Dramatic Club are not letting the grass grow under foot. The first rehearsal of .the comedy, 'The Pickpocket,' takes plane at the Council Chambers on Friday night. It iB anticipated that the first public performance will be in about six weeks time, and a record run for Narromine is expected. In cluded in the caste, are some old favourites, whilst others are as yet unknown to fame. One gentleman, who has hitherto confined his efforts solely to figures, is metamorphosed into a medico, and already talks learnedly of diaphrams, vertebraes and the solar plexus. Another, a jugglar, in the same line, noted for his powers of voice and memory, and who, in spite of his rapidly increasing addipose tissue, is the beau ideal of an actor, has already learnad his part, but then he is fortified \-y the fact of havinor alreadv appeared is public — as the record he put up at Mi-s.
