Red Cross Workers. The committee of the local branch of the Red Cross Society have once more commenced operations and are       making strenuous efforts to supply comforts or the soldiers. It is urgently requested that workers will come forward again as they did last year and assist the Society in their noble work. Material can be obtained from the hon. secretary (Mrs. T. M. Drew.) There is a great demand for shirts for the soldiers and it is hoped a ready response to this appeal will be forthcoming.

Cowley's Creek. (from ouii own correspondent). A very enthusiastic welcome homo was tendered to Driver J. Nalder in the hull last Friday evening when there was a crowded house. The chairman, Mr. Sam King, in warmly   welcoming the returned soldier presented hitn with a framed photo of the local honor board, as he had been previously presented with a medal at Timboon. Mr. J. Neal and Councillors Underwood and Howlett also congratu lated Driver Nalder on his return, and expressed the hope that he would settle in the Scott's Creek district where he was reared and is very highly esteemed. The guest, who has been ; invalided home after more than three   years active service, thanked them for   their hearty welcome that had been   extended to him, and for the souvenir.   No words could express the joy he felt at being back amongst them all again. It is desired by the military authorities abroad that the word " Australia" be included in everything addressed to any of the uiiits, hence the necessity for including the words " Australian Imperial Force," in?tend of " A.I.F." Confusion is being caused by tbo Australian correspondents using tlio letters "A.F.A." instead of writing the words " Australian Field Artillery" in full in (he addresses on I. ttcrs and parcels inti'ndi-d for members of that unit.
