SOCIAL. --0-- A social was hell at Willough by's Federal Palace on Monday evening when a number of friends met to say farewell to Me-srs A. Hatfie!d and T. Hanly, who some little time azo joined the second expeditionary force, and Mr A. *Willoughby, who enlisted from an other part of the State. Mr A. W. Cooper, J P., occupied the chair and said that the guests were men of whom we could feel proud. They had put aside all personal matters to go and fight for their -King and country, and he wished them good luck and a safe return to Ouyen. He then proposed the -toast of "The King," which was i accompanied by the National Au them. Rev. S1-.7 of water in the! The Water Commission has made arrangements with the Railway Department to coiry water from Mildura to Ouyen. In the station yard two 4.000-gallon tanks have been provided and are filled daily by the water train. A caretaker has been placed in charge of the tanks, and water can be purchased at the rate of 6d per 100 gallons. Mr F. Campigli, who has filled the position of operating clerk at the local railway station for some time, has been transferred to Broadmeadows, and left-on Tues day evening. Prior to going, he was presented with a pipe and pocket wallet by his friends. Mr W. Crawford, who has been stationed at the local police station for the past nine n;onths, and -who recently joined the ranks of the benedicts, received notice of his appointment to the charge of the Mnrray-ville station during the week, and left yesterday morning.
