T. E. SMITH AT EMU, Mr. T. R. Smith addressed a largo meet ing of the electors at Cooper's Railway Inn, Emu Plains, on Wednesday night. Mr. Henry Evans occupied the chair and briefly introduced the candidate. Mr. Smith (who upon rising, was greotod with loud cheers) gave an exposition of his views on the Land, and other questions of public interest, which we have already re ported at length. There was one matter that he should like to. explain to them, as it had been made the subject of a good deal of misrepresentation. (Hear, hear I) Here referred to the reserve which he had leased for gravel. Ho would tell them the history of this in the fewest possible words. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Oolless, took contracts for the supply of gravel, and she was put to so much oxpense and inconvenience by some of her male competitors, that she' made up her mind to relinquish the business alto gether.
