NUMBER 1. VOLUME 11 . THE PLYMOUTH WEEKLY DEMOCRAT. An Efirly Autumn. The indications throughout the month of August have been that wc should have early frosts this Fall. The incessant rains of June and July seem to have jrx!uccu ail unusually low state of the thermometer during the present month. While a few days have been moderately warm, the niirhis and morninirs have been cooler than usual at this season of the year. 1 he fact that corn, in consequence of the raiu, is backward, renders the prospect of early frosts much dreaded by farmers, because a crop which otherwise promises to be most abundant would thus be cut very short. There have already been some frosts in New Hampshire, Iowa, and Wisconsin, but whether they have done any damage to the crops has not yet been ascertained! Probably not. As the season advances, the danger from frost decreases, and a few weeks of such weather as we are now having in this latitude will place the com crop beyond danger. New Albany Ledger. Diw...
