As we who knew him all can tell ; i And thinking on his part well done , ! We praise him thus—the faithful one . i An humble friend , faithful and trne , He did the best that he could do ; Of man or dog can more be said , Than we say for onr humble dead ? Canls-Amicus . • Rip—the best and most faithful dog that we ever owned—died suddenly a few nights ago , probably from poisoning . In Ms memory I write these few and simple lines for publication . No one commissioned yon to make any such overtures , he said . You know your business up to a certain point , Coffin , as well as any man t have met ; but you are clear at sea ln this matter .
