The Oaklawn Percherons . The illustration on the first page this week shows a group of Percherons—Brilliant , Francena , the colt Black Bart and filly Fortuna . Oaklawn is one of the great breeding farms of the United States , Mr . M . W . Dunham , its proprietor , one of the great breeders Of the country , and the farm one of the most notable in America . He has made Wayne , Du-Page Co ., HI ., known wherever the English language is spoken . The farm is devoted , and William Dunham s energies directed , entirely to breeding the Perche horse of France , pure to type and in perfection of characteristics . The proprietor is noted for courtesy to visitors , and in his directness in reply to letters , stating business points lucidly and tersely ; and whether the visitor comes to see the pure-bred Percheron , or simply as a visitor to a great breeding establishment , he will receive the same generous hospitality .
