We wero gratified yesterday to re ceive a visit from Mr. Robert Ridge way, at present a member of congress elect from the Amherst district, in Vir ginia, and for many years before the war the editor of tlie Richmond Whig, and, as such, one of the most brilliant and powerful writers connected with the Virginia press. He is stopping for a day or two at the McLure House. This is Mr. R.'s first visit to Wheeling. The Election ??H?rd?y. The vote yesterday, although large, falls very considerably behind the reg istration, and will not eqoal the poll at the Presidential election in 1864. The local positions voted for were not of sufficient importance to draw out a full test of strength. At this writing, the returns received do not indicate the re sult in the county.
