Port Barrow's new levee is almost completed-in fact, we believe the finishing touches will be given this evening. Dr. A. R. deVilleneuve of Donald sonville was married on the 5th inst., in Pointe Conpee parish, to Miss Aloy sia Hatkinson. Mr. S. N. Van Praag, traveling agent and solicitor for the New Or leans Times, was in town Monday and paid the CHIEF Office a visit. The Town Treasurer gives official notice that on Wednesday, January 2, he will sell at public auction the lease of the Market-House for 1878.
