The United States supreme Court has j ust decidgd a very important case where the t question presented was, whether a woman, a who is a eitisen, can be a voter in a State. d The dooeiton of the Court is adverse to the t olaim of the applicant; and thus ends the r controversy as to the right of woman to I vote.. The Court decides that the right of suif- 1 rage is not one of the privileges of eitizen- f ship, and that the United States has no voters; but to vo~o for Federal officers the voter must be qualified under the laws of the State in which he resides. The Court is unanimous in the opinion that the United States does not confer the right of suffrage upon any one, and that where States confer that right upon men alone the act is not void.
