IIV AN' - At and succeeding tlic time heretofore mentioned, Cloverport lind a lniye trade from Grayson county, many teanm constantly employed in bringing in product of tin county, such as flax need, beans, clioatnutH, jeann, linse.VH, flax linen, maple migar, venison limns, and other wild game, and exchanging for salt, flour, whisky and store goods, but little sugar, molasses or coffee being wanted. Of the two former articles they made an abundance, and but little of the latter was required. This trade extended to Canoyville and beyond, all of which has been cut off by the construction of rail roads, which afford tlioo people easy access to other markets. Tobinsport, on the Indiana sklo of tlio river, was tho landing for that portion of 1'crry county known as "Tobin's n largo body of very fino land then, only partially settled. Jndgo To-bin, from whom it derived its name, bad nettled years before near the upper end of tho bottom, and erected n comfortablo brick building perhaps at that time tho finest dwelling in Perry county outside of Home, then tho county seat.
