The Buchan Prizes. - The .result of 1he BIuchli experimeit is illustrative of the story of the man who dreamt that a hoard ofgold was' hidden .under one of the fruit trees in his garden. lie dug round every tree but failed to find lhe ..reasure, then his neighbors came mnonth after month and laughed .at his folly until in sheer desperation he set to work and filled up. the unsightly holes and found the treasure. The exposure of the soil to the atiosphere rejuvenated the orchard and the: consequent: crop of, fruit brought wealth. Only two persons could possibly win the handsome timepieces offered as prizes for the best gardens, but richer rewards have been won by all competitors, in the possession of bautiful gardens as the result of their efforts.
