AGRICULTURAL [Newspaper Article] — Western Rural — 20 June 1868

AGRICULTURAL Culture of Bnokwheat . . The cold , wetand disagreeable weather of May and the first week of the present month having made the planting of corn an Impossibility in some places , resort must be had to everything that at this late period of the season may be used as a substitute . Land that cannot be tilled in Spring on account of stagnant water saturating , the soil , will probably be the first to be affected by frost in thc Fall and on this account there is but little use in planting corn on it now , for the purpose of growing grain . It Is considered to be the best destroyer of weeds of all cultivated crops . It is sown late and the weeds which have made a fine start , are ¦ su...
