Mr. Reevo's concurrent resolution direct ing the state house commissioners to erec tone railings about the west portico of th capilol, was adopted. A resolution was in trodueed by Mr. Cloyes directing the execu tive council to investigate, and get stimates on electric lights for the state house, with special attention to incandescent lights, which comes up again to-morrow. II B. 18c, requiring the annual trimming of hedge along highways, was repeated, there being a thin house. If a re consideration is reached it will pass. Mr. Hatfield's bill to raise pa;. of county school superintendents, about 20- each, in the different grades, and more than that in counties having more than 1,50J school population, was considered in coir inittee of the whole, but no action was taken n before noon adjournment. Beloit Gazette: Several months ago we mentioned the case of a man who was before the pension examining board of this district, claiming to be Charles E. Brew er, and that he was shot and left for JeaJ on the Bull ltun battle field, and he having been so reported, his name was dropped from the army rolls. At the time mentioned Erewer was trying to es tablish hi3 identity, so that he might be reinstated and enabled to draw a pension for the disability claimed to have accrued from wounds received in the United States service. That the man who claims to be Erewer has leen badly torn and maimed by shot and shell, or some other cause, the mcidical examination proved beyond a doubt, but the jjension authori tie's claim that the real Chajles E. Erew er, an American, was killed, as reported, and that his remains were sent to Michi gan and buried, and that the claimant is a German by birth, or descent, and that ...
