Obituary. Joseph Henry Adams, son of J. 1). and Maim Adams, who live in the Highland addition, was born Feb. 14, 1908, and after an illness of only 3 days, died in great peace June 18, 1910, aged 2 years, 4 mouths and 4 days. We can speculate on some things and have honest doubts about some others, but in this case there is no room whatever for cither. Little Joseph is in heaven for a certainty. Smith, who was ar rested about two weeks ago, charged with holding1 up passen ger train No. 2, had a preliminary trial at Alamogordo last Satur day before U. S. Commissioner Sidney M. Parker. The trial consumed moat of the day, and at Fort Stanton Investigation. An investigation is now under way at Kort Stanton. Charges have been preferred against Dr. II. S. Mathcwson, medical officer in command. The investigation is being conducted by Mr. Arthur A. Vaccination. Lincoln county is not the only county in the territory which has had trouble over the question of vaccination. In Quay county the matter got into the courts, and at the last term of district court in that county u sentence was im posed by Judge Coolcy upon an individual who refused to have children vaccinated. We copy the following from the New Mex ico Journal of Education, relating to that particular case: Territory of New Mexico ver sus . No. 346. In the matter of passing sctitcucc on the defendant in the above entitled cause. The Court: "Mr. , vou have been indicted under chapter 17 of the laws of 1901, for refusing to allow your chil dren to be vaccinated.
