S. )epartment of Agriculture, in Northeast Louis iana, was a visitor to this section recently and expressed great sat isfaction at the condition of crops in this parish and the unusual scarcity of boull weevils. Mr. Bar nett believes the crisis is practi cally pass.,d as to damage from boll weevil in this section, due to the extreme measures directed toward the extermination of the pest that have been so rigidly en forced, and he feels almost san guine that the infestation next year will be decidedly less than experienced this season, and un less relaxation of effort along these lines is permitted two or three years hence the weevil will be a thing of the past, and will have proved a blessing in disguise by enforcing upon us the adoption of the intensive cultural methods, hitherto unpractised here, ...
