AN ORDINANCE relative to Nuisances. Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Common I Council Sacramento City, that no person or persons ..shall throw or deposit, or cause to be thrown or deposited, in any street, lane, alley, square, public place or vacant lot, or any other place, tiny animal or vegetable matter, subject in its nature to undergo decomposition, and thereby cause j disease. Nor shall any person or persons throw, or cause to be placed, any dead animal or any foul or offensive matter in or on any public place, street, lane, square, alley, or any other place within the corporate limits of Sacramento City, and that any person or persons so offending shall upon conviction forfeit and pay into the City treasury the sum of not less than twentyfive dollars for each and every such )ffence. The Common Council shall, upon entering upon a discharge of its duties, or as soon thereafter as practicable, elect by ballot ii suitable person to act as Clerk, who bhall servo during the pleasure of said Council.
