Discover Canadian cuisine [Newspaper Article] — Belvedere Citizen / Eastside Journal — 27 February 1980
Discover Canadian cuisine By JEANNETTE BRANXN Copley News Service The pleasures of Canadian cuisine combine the refinements of French cooking with the basics of English cooking. Perhaps the most popular cookbook extolling the food of our neighbor to the north is “Enjoying the Art of Canadian Cooking" by Mmc. Jehane Benoit who has been made an Officer of the Order of Canada, in recognition of her efforts to express Canadian history and culture through traditional foods. The book is published by Arco Publishing Co., has 192 pages and is $8.95. Another ■ fascinating cookbook is “French Recipes North Americans Love Best,” by Pamela Sancton, published by Tundra Books, 126 pages, $4.95. It lists recipes from 50 famous Canadian restaurants. I do not know if it is available in this country. Rita Jalbert found her copy during a visit to Nanaimo, British Columbia. Here are some typical recipes: Chef Edmond Uzan presents Canadian Redcoat Pork Chops and Salmon Victoria to an appreciative diner....

SQAC champions compete in West Regionals [Newspaper Article] — Belvedere Citizen / Eastside Journal — 27 February 1980
SQAC champions compete in West Regionals Midway through the second half, Occidental College’s basketball team needed a lift.
