The labor disturbances at the town of Lake involving the packers three. ton to become Rerious. The strike whilst more cirenmscribed appears to be numerically almost as extensive as the great strike on the southwestern system last spring. The entire quarrel seemingly hinges on the eight hour a day business and upon this the fight is being made. The head men of the Knights of La- bor seem to be responsible. Thousands of men have been ordered out on the strike who go without uny volition or judgment of their own but blindly sub- mit to the will of their superiors in the order. At intervals of about one week X wonld be attacked with spells of severe and most excrnciating pain always commencing la the re- gion of my kidneys. The pain would then eo-up-warde and Bffect my body and head and seemed to penetrate my very eyeballs creating the most intense suffering lasting about eight hours each spell. It will however cause general regret in Texas throughout which Mr. Hoxie wa. Known and with whose interests he was for nearly two decades intimately connected. Col. Hoxie was a native of New York and wa out CO years of age. His wife was a Miss Mitchell of Iowa.
