FROM THE SYDNEY GAZETTE. [Newspaper Article] — Hobart Town Gazette — 16 December 1826

FROM THE SYDNEY GAZETTE.   An advertisement announces that this beautifully printed Journal will be published daily after the ter-   mination of this year, on so very low terms, in so convenieut a size, and with so neat a type, as to gratify all parties. Two privates, named Sudds and Thompson, of the 57th Regiment, have been sentenced to be worked in chains on the roads seven years for committing a rob- bery with the hope of obtaining their discharge. At the period of their sentence they are to rejoin their corps, but during its continuance they forfeit all claim   to pay or pension. Sudds, the soldier of the 57th, who committed the   robbery to obtain his discharge, died in the Gaol Hos- pital last month.     Mr. Barron Field has published a collection of origi- nal poems, entitled " Botany Bay Flowers." A speci- men shall speak for itself, however ominous of the Aus-   tralian muse.— &am...
