PALMWOODS-MONTVILLE MAIN ROAD. We are informed by the secretary of the Nnmhour Chamber of Commerce (Mr. A. W. Thynne) that hn is in re ceipt of a loiter from the secretary of the Main Roads Board (Mr. J. E. England) to the effect that the Board has decided to recommend to the Gov ernor-in-nouncil that the Montville Palmwoods road be proclaimed a main road. The notification will shortly ap pear in the Q.C. Gazette. The letter does not state, but it is understood from other sources, that the Remington Chute route is the one being recom mended.

Nambonr Choral Society. CHORAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT. The concert held in aid of the Ma roochy District Hospital funds, at the Memorial Hall, on last Saturday even ing was very successful. The members of the Cnural Society arrived at about 7.30 p.m.. after a journey per car and motor lorries from Nambour. The at tendance was moderately good, and th« items seemed to meet with approval. Several lumbers were encored. The singing of Mrs. N. F. Lowe (Nambour) attracted a good deal of favourable comment, her efforts requiring a recall. One of ner soprano solos, 'Butterfly Wings.' is the competitive solo at the Ipavyich Eisteddfod, and in this section Mr*. Lowe is a competitor.
