[FKOH THE COimiKH.] On Monday morning, the barometer fell three quarters of an inch, and soon after a blusterous hot wind blew from the north, which lasted several hours, until veering to the cast, an interchange of thc electric fluid, accomnatucd with distant Deals of thunder, restored tlie atmosphere to itscquilibrium. During thc hot gale on Monday afternoon, uboat belonging J-0 Mr. Stockcr, loaded with pioducc from New Norfolk, was unfoitunately swamped near Bridgcwatcr, and most of the cargo lost A distressing and fatal accident happened at the Black Snake on Sunday. A sweet child of only two years of age, belonging to Mr. G. W. Robinson, was found drowned, holding by a rope of a boat, of which it had apparently been attempting to get on board. To this we have to add the shocking death by burning, of a little boy three years of age, iu the the upper end of Melville street, on Thursday.
