Sunday Corner. [Newspaper Article] — Koroit Sentinel and Tower Hill Advocate — 28 November 1914

Sunday Corner. HY " RADIATOU." A miction is always needful in tho first stage of t!io Christian's deepening experience. . Failure is ofion necessary to tench humility and patience. Let us bo rcvclatious of what Christ is, and of what llo can make sinful men become. Ah, blessed Lord of soul?, wo seo how tho storm swept thy heart, that it might never (ouch us ; Thou art our hi'iing place, our shield, our deliverer, out- strong tower. Wliero God is really hidden in tho heart, the beams of his lovely purity must irradiate and beautify the lite. lie that fays he has fellowship with tho Holy God, and walks in the dark ness of his c.wn lusts, lies. The State Elections. PARTIES ABOUT THE SAME. MR. BAILEY ELECTED FOR PORT FAIRY. [Newspaper Article] — Koroit Sentinel and Tower Hill Advocate — 28 November 1914

The State Elections. PARTIES ABOUT THE SAME. MR. BAILEY ELECTED FOR PORT FAIRY. On Thursday the people of Victoria were called upon to elect a parliament for the next three years, and ns far as can be judged at present, the position of parties in the new house will be about the same as in the old one. In some constituencies where more than two candidates offered, the results will not be known for a few days. In the contest in which local people arc more directly concerned, the retiring mem ber (Mr. Duffus) was opposed by Mr. H. S. Bailey, who hns been returned by a majority of 245. The education question was a strong under-current in connection with the contest, and a comparison of voting at several centres shows a marked difference to the figures at the previous election. It is said that quite a number of electors refrained from voting. The posting of returns at the 11 Sentinel" office was eagerly followed by a crowd of some hundreds. The first icturn received came from Yarpturfc, ...

THE KOROIT SHOW. A GRATIFYING EXHIBITION. [Newspaper Article] — Koroit Sentinel and Tower Hill Advocate — 28 November 1914

THE K0R01T SHOW. . A GRATIFYING EXHIBITION. Despite the adverse ssason the Koroit show of igi-t, held last Saturday, com pared favorably with the most successful of the long line of exhibitions held since (he establishment of the society nearly thirty years ago. True the district is now suffering from (he most prolonged dry period it lias ever experienced, and the prospects for the coming year are not too bright. It was feared that the effect would make itself felt 011 the show, and it speaks volumes for the district that there was no dccline. Almost every section was equally well represented, and visitors must have been impressed with the fact that as regards quality of exhibits, their variety, and the evidences of prosperity on every side, this part of Victoria is a producer's paradise. There was no slackening in the attendance, as shown by the figures for the past three years:-1914, £110; 191,3, £105; 1912, £117. The cfTcct of the weather was noticeable on the grounds, where the ...
