EMPIRE DAY AT WAR BURTON. GREAT PATRIOTIC DISPLAI On Monday night, May 25th, Warburton for the first time cele brated Empire night after tht fashion of the times, and did it sc heartily withal, that there can nc longer be any doubt but that the Empire.Day movement (of course _we_mean at least as-far as War burton is conicerned) must endure. It was the new school committee', first organised entertainment for the children, and the committet may be congratulated on havin, 'nade a brilliant debut. The idea began as a simple picture show, for the juveniles, but took shape, and grew until, with the co-operc ation of the band, the orchestra the mechanics institute comm ittec and local artists and visitors, the evening developed into a gran' patriotic demonstration.
