TUB MORKTON BAY SHARE OF THE DEBT. (From the Herald, November 6.) Before the separation of the Northern Districts can be formally accomplished, it will be necessary to come to an agreement as to the share of the public debt of the colony, which will fairly be apportioned to Moreton Bay. The extent of the   debt must be inquired into— when it was contracted, and for what purposes— and how far the northern half of the province shared in the advantages pur- chased by the borrowed money. It would not be fair to the new colony to saddle it with a debt incurred for purposes quite alien from its interests, nor on the other handwould it be fair to allow it, by the Act of Separation, to escape from obligations     contracted with their consent, and in the benefit of which they participated.
