Tho State Legislature., For the Susquehanna Register. Ma. Editor—If there is one right of the-ri,tizen more sacred than another-^-one which should be upheld and sustained at all hazards, and under all circumstances, it is that of freely discussing the merits and demerits of public servants, if we except the right of the people to sovereignty. No threats or insinuations, I presume, will deter any one from canvassing the claims of all or any one of our servonts to the plaudit "well done, good and faithful servant" The article in the last " Democrat" headed "F; B. Streeter, Esq." came with an ill grace from the'organ of that party which has hitherto professed such strict accountability of the representative. What has " F. B. Streeter, E>q." done which rendered such a mighty and premature effort in his favor necessary I I have not heard even his name mentioned in the " P. O." or within -the boundaries of the borough of Montrose, since the meeting of the Legislature, unt...

Raising of Salaries By referring to tlie appropriation bill it will be 1 seen that the.late Legislature became extremely! ¦ liberal with the peopU's money after they voted} ; themselves three dollars a day for the whole eec-j sioa.
