PRELIMINARY TRIAL HELD r ~ - Graves of 34 Supposed Victims of Negro Herb Doctor Are to Be Opened Hamilton , O ., March 16 . —Alfred Knapp was called before Mayor Bosch Monday for his preliminary trial . It was set for nine a . m ., but ovyjng- to the delays it was nearly tea before anything was done . Knapp ¦ was brought over from jail handcuffed . He was calm , as usual . His lawyers , Daxby and Thomas , of Cincinnati , arrived at 9 : 45 and went into cnsultation with Mayor Bosch and the prisoner in the mayor s private office . It was raining and not a large crowd was in court . At the conclusion of the conference it was announced that Knapp ¦ would not waive examination , but would stand a hearing . Little Rock , Ark ., March 16 . —Attorney General Murphy has filed with the legislative investigating committee 20 charges of gross misconduct in office against Gov . Jeff Davis . The committee decided to take testimony in support of the charges . The attorney general charges the governor with frequent violations of the criminal laws of the state in borrowing money from the state treasurer aud drawing twice for the same item of expense from his contingent fund .
