Our Presidents and VicoPrceidents wero at first nominated by caucuses composed of tho Senators and racmbors of tho Houso of .Representatives belong ing to each party. This caucus system, although wo often see it decried by Eng lish writers and papers, was really de rived by our early politicians from JCngland.
