Believing it to be a moral^dnty to correct euch false reports, we beg^the favor of doing so through the columns of^your paper. From all the evidence we can^gather at this place, where it happened, and^what we saw ourselves immediately after the^lamentable affair, the following is correct as^near as memory serves us.
