Dr. Hartman's Plain Talis to Young Men My plain talk to young men in my last article certainly brought out many responses from young men. I take this means of answering them briefly, for the benefit of other young men who did not write me- One writer says: "I was .greatly interested in your talk to young men. I wish I was strong and well as you describe your self to be. I am going to begin at once and follow your advice and take care of myself as I ought to. I will quit the use of all stimulants, tea and coffee, go to bed early. I will take the cold water towel bath every morn ing. I want to live to be old and useful, like you. And I shall also keep Peruna at hand, in case of slight ailments as tbey may arise. I thank you in the name of thousands of oth er young men, like myself." To this letter I replied: My Dear Boy: I cannot tell you how much good your letter has done me. To know that I am arousing the young men in matters of right living fills me with gratitude and .en thusiasm....

f-ree: press HARRY FREESE, Publisher. HAYS KANSAS. HUMAN HAPPINESS BUT BRIEF -Fortunate Indeed Are Those of - Able to Secure Even a Short Cpace of Real Joy. Us It happens that there are few, if any, human beings among us who are completely and rapturously happy for any length of time. Ixvers in each others', arms, benefactors relieving Buffering, mothers clasping their ba bies, actor and poet under the fresh laurels of triumph all these know surely what the ecstacy of bliss is. But the child leaves the mother's arms; the benefactors receive ingrati tude; the lovers weary or deceive or die; the actor or the artist finds that one warm heart had been better than the hollow ring of all those plaudits and the ecstacy with all has been brief. And that is what the moan is about that it cannot last all the time, as if in a world that "spins forever down the ringing grooves of change," every moment, with its invisible forces, must not pull the present com bination apart to effect a new one, ...
