GARDENERS' COLUIWN. F.= seuthera I..uws1S3 MAY. During the month of May not much can be done in the garden besides killing weeds and grass, and keeping the surface of the soil well hod and mellow. After hoeing, scatter old manure on the surface around plmats and hbe tween drills. Late pease should be steek, late beans polled, and to mato vines tied up to stakes, or frames, fitted up to keep the long branches from the ground. Materials are ssmetimes scare for holding up tomate vines. A stake may be driven by each vine and the vine tied to it Or a stake may be driven on each side of the row at the end, and eight feet from this two others, and so on to the other ead of the row. These should be two feet apart and fourteen nlaches from the top of each to the ground. Lay on strips of cypress three feet long on the top of each pair of these stakes and then lay nine feet pieuxs on each side of the tomatoes, the whole length of the row; and let the vine hang over them.
