1 flaking Loans to Bank Officers. Capita! and Surplus $200000.00 The business of a National Bank is managed by a board of .directors who are required to exercise due diligence and act in good faith. They are responsible in civil suit and criminally for any fraud or mis-management ot the banks affairs. Any officer receiving deposits after his bank is insolvent is guilty of a criminal offense. Five sworn statements to the gov- ernment are made and published in a local newspaper and at least two examinations a year without notice by a United States Government officer. Loans are restricted to one-tenth of the banks capital and surplus and this amount cannot be exceeded to any one. Directors are expected to meet once a month and pass on the loans of the bank and make examina- tions of the banks condition.
