It all started innocently enough with Brice Reusink lin- ing up to kick a 42-yard field goal, which, if he made it, would have given Wylie a comfortable 24-14 lead over Ellison. Had he missed it, then the Eagles would have gotten the ball at their 32, and then faced the prospect of going 68 yards against what had been a stout Pirate defense. Then all hell broke loose. Thursday, December 1,2005 - THE SACHSE NEWS - Section B - Page 5 Stanley relishes role as Lady Pirates' scoring machine By Greg Ford Jackie Stanley doesn't remember exactly when she scored her first varsity points, althor.;h she docs recall the game. "It was against South Garland," she said. "I think I had like 14 points. I was really excited to have 14 points." Now, two years and more than a 1,000 points later, Stanley, a junior, is the person the Lady Pirates look to when (hey want a bucket. And in her case, scoring 14 points would be considered an off night. Recently, Stanley, a post player for Wylie, pumped in 28 in a 60-51 victory over Allen, and just a few weeks ago, on Nov. 15, the junior scored 35 in a 58-44 triumph over Rowlett. One of those baskets pushed her over 1,000 career points as a prep player. By the time she's done, Stanley likely will have scored over 2,000 points as a Lady Pirate. "Jackie has been blessed with fat size and athleticism," said lie girls' head coac...
