ALEXANDRA'S REVERSE AT YEA. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton, Taggerty and Acheron Express — 30 June 1950

---------------- · It ALEXANDRA'S REVERSE AT YEA. With the two top teams defeated last Saturday, the struggle for the final four has become very close and interesting. Mansfield and Thornton, ] on 14 points, have a tough job, ahead ofthem and must rely on favorable results from other games as well as continue to win themselves. Alexan dra were capable of it from exactly the same position last season, so it is by no means beyond these two teams. Seymour's fine win against Broad. 'ford' is further proof that there is no such thing as a "certainty" for the finals in this league. With four out of the remaining six games on their own ground, Alexan dra must be conceded a good chance, and the team is very confident of mak ing the final. The weather for Saturday's game at Yea turned out to be very cold and foggy, and once again the customers got their money's worth. Alexandra lost the game int the first fifteen minutes, when Yea turned on the heat and scored 5.1 before the visitors virtual...
