I When a car has seen a considerable j amount oí service and the paintwork is dull and faded, do not immediately jump to the conclusion that the car needs re painting. It is highly probatf,-; that about 30/- spent ob what is known ¡£ the cutting back process may restore completely the original appearance. Any firm specialising in ooachpainting will do this, and the process consists in rub bing into the panels a special compound which actually cuts away the dirty sur face of the cellulose finish and reveals the Tower coats whose color bad in no way been affected. A NEW USE FOR ELECTRICITY. j The application of electrical science to musical intruments has opened up a complete 'new field of performance. In America recently the well-known con ductor Leopold Stokowski dfmonslra'ed how he could obtain different tones simp ly by waving his hand ia front of au electrically-sensative apparatus. At least one composer has written music direct on to a motion picture film by drawing the forms of sound waves along the sound track. It has been claimed that this crea tion and amplification of sound by elec trical means will eventually supersede the orchestra and its component instru ments, because the range of tonal col ours that the electrician can produce is unlimited. --
